The Micro Grants were established to accelerate and diversify research collaboration by directly supporting trainees.
One of the major goals of the cluster is to invest in people and community. By supporting trainees and improving access to facilities, we aim to strengthen collaboration, foster interdisciplinary exchange and knowledge, and build a more connected research environment at UBC. These grants provide funding for trainees i.e., graduate students, postdocs, and researchers, to travel to conferences and workshops, and to access shared facilities across both campuses - Vancouver and Okanagan, ensuring equitable opportunities for all.
We currently offer two types of grants that trainees actively involved in the Characterization@UBC community can apply for. The cluster is currently accepting applications for both grants:
- Micro Travel Grant - to support trainee's participation in conferences, workshops, and training opportunities.
- Micro Access Grant - to encourage equitable access and use of shared facilities and resources across the Vancouver and Okanagan campuses.
